What you need
- A supported iPhone (see below) running iOS 17 or later, with at least 5 GB free
- A Mac with Warmr installed
- An original Apple or MFi-certified USB data cable. Generic cables are the single most common cause of mid-session disconnects, and Wi-Fi is not an alternative: the cable is required at all times
- A powered USB hub once you connect 6 or more devices
Supported iPhones
| Support | Models | iOS |
|---|---|---|
| Recommended | iPhone 12 and newer (13, 14, 15, 16 any variant are ideal) | 17 or later, incl. iOS 26 |
| Minimum | iPhone XR (verified floor); iPhone 11 also works, a little slower. iPhone XS / XS Max run iOS 17 but are less tested. | 17 or later |
| Not supported | iPhone X / 8 / 7 / SE (1st gen) and older, or iOS 16 and below | n/a |
Connect an iPhone
Plug the iPhone into your Mac via USB
Use a Lightning or USB-C cable depending on your iPhone model. Connect directly to your Mac or through a powered USB hub.
Trust the Mac on your iPhone
Unlock the iPhone. When the Trust This Computer prompt appears, tap Trust and enter your passcode if asked. This step is required for Warmr to communicate with the device.
Open Warmr and confirm the device appears
Launch Warmr on your Mac. The connected iPhone shows up in the Devices panel within a few seconds. If it does not appear, unplug and reconnect the cable.
After connecting: two more steps per iPhone
A connected iPhone can’t warm or post until you finish two more one-time steps on it:Prepare the iOS settings
Developer Mode, Appearance = Light, StandBy = Off, and a few more. Prepare each iPhone.
Install the Warmr runner
The helper that lets your Mac drive the device. Install the runner.
Tips for managing multiple iPhones
- Use a powered USB hub for four or more devices. Unpowered hubs can cause connection drops under load.
- Label each cable or port so you always know which physical iPhone maps to which device in Warmr.
- Keep iPhones plugged in and charging throughout sessions. Warmup and posting runs are continuous, and a device that powers off mid-session will pause its accounts.
Warmr keeps state for each device. If you unplug and reconnect an iPhone, it resumes from where it left off. Accounts do not lose their warmup progress or schedule.
