# How to Connect Your iPhones to Warmr Using a USB Cable

> Connect physical iPhones to your Mac over USB, trust each device on screen, and confirm the phone appears in the Warmr Devices panel.

Warmr runs on real, physical iPhones: no emulators, cloud phones, or virtual devices. It drives each iPhone through on-screen taps via iOS automation, which means genuine hardware is a hard requirement. Once your iPhones are connected and trusted, Warmr tracks each device independently so you can manage an entire farm from a single Mac.

## What you need

* A **supported iPhone** (see below) running iOS 17 or later, with at least 5 GB free
* A Mac with Warmr installed
* An **original Apple or MFi-certified** USB data cable. Generic cables are the single most common cause of mid-session disconnects, and **Wi-Fi is not an alternative**: the cable is required at all times
* A **powered** USB hub once you connect 6 or more devices

## Supported iPhones

| Support           | Models                                                                                                                | iOS                       |
| ----------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------- |
| **Recommended**   | iPhone 12 and newer (13, 14, 15, 16 any variant are ideal)                                                            | 17 or later, incl. iOS 26 |
| **Minimum** | iPhone XR (verified floor); iPhone 11 also works, a little slower. iPhone XS / XS Max run iOS 17 but are less tested. | 17 or later |
| **Not supported** | iPhone X / 8 / 7 / SE (1st gen) and older, or iOS 16 and below                                                        | n/a                       |

Each iPhone needs at least **5 GB free** (15 GB or more is better) to leave room for the apps, system updates, and the videos staged for posting.

## Connect an iPhone

<Steps>
  <Step title="Plug the iPhone into your Mac via USB">
    Use a Lightning or USB-C cable depending on your iPhone model. Connect directly to your Mac or through a powered USB hub.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Trust the Mac on your iPhone">
    Unlock the iPhone. When the **Trust This Computer** prompt appears, tap **Trust** and enter your passcode if asked. This step is required for Warmr to communicate with the device.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open Warmr and confirm the device appears">
    Launch Warmr on your Mac. The connected iPhone shows up in the **Devices** panel within a few seconds. If it does not appear, unplug and reconnect the cable.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Name the device (optional)">
    Click the device in the Devices panel and assign it a friendly name, for example, **Rack Slot 3** or **TikTok Farm A**. This makes it easier to identify devices at a glance when managing a large setup.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## After connecting: two more steps per iPhone

A connected iPhone can't warm or post until you finish two more one-time steps on it:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Prepare the iOS settings">
    Developer Mode, Appearance = Light, StandBy = Off, and a few more. [Prepare each iPhone](/setup/iphone-settings).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Install the Warmr runner">
    The helper that lets your Mac drive the device. [Install the runner](/setup/install-runner).
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Tips for managing multiple iPhones

* **Use a powered USB hub** for four or more devices. Unpowered hubs can cause connection drops under load.
* **Label each cable or port** so you always know which physical iPhone maps to which device in Warmr.
* **Keep iPhones plugged in and charging** throughout sessions. Warmup and posting runs are continuous, and a device that powers off mid-session will pause its accounts.

<Note>
  Warmr keeps state for each device. If you unplug and reconnect an iPhone, it resumes from where it left off. Accounts do not lose their warmup progress or schedule.
</Note>

<Warning>
  Do not use emulators, cloud phones, or jailbroken devices. Warmr is built for genuine iOS devices and does not support modified environments. Using unsupported device types may cause unpredictable behaviour or account flags.
</Warning>
