# Instagram Auto-Posting and Account Warmup Using Warmr

> Warmr warms up Instagram accounts and auto-posts Reels, carousels, and photos on schedule using real iPhone taps. No API access required.

Instagram is fully supported for both warmup and auto-posting. Warmr drives the Instagram iOS app with real on-screen taps. No Meta API, no third-party integrations, and no risk of the API-rate-limit bans that affect traditional scheduling tools.

## Device setup

You can run up to **8 Instagram accounts** per iPhone, with **3–4 the best-practice sweet spot** for staying healthy.

Every iPhone needs the same one-time setup, and it covers **every** platform: set a device up once and it can warm and post on TikTok, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn.

* **Developer Mode** on (Settings → Privacy & Security → Developer Mode).
* **UI Automation** on (Settings → Developer → Enable UI Automation): required, or no automation runs.
* **Appearance = Light** and **StandBy = Off**: the two settings that cause most failed sessions.
* **Auto-Lock = Never** and **Brightness ≥ 50%**.
* The **Warmr runner** installed on the device.

See [Prepare each iPhone](/setup/iphone-settings) for the full checklist, then [Install the runner](/setup/install-runner).

## Supported content types

## Account warmup lifecycle

Every Instagram account goes through Warmr's warmup lifecycle before it enters the posting rotation. Posting on a cold or fresh account is the leading cause of suppressed reach and shadowban flags.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Fresh">
    The account is newly added to Warmr. Warmup activity begins immediately; posting is blocked.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Warmed up">
    Warmr has been running daily scroll, like, follow, and Explore activity. The account is establishing a normal usage history.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Matured">
    The account has reached Warmr's maturity threshold and is cleared to enter the posting rotation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Kept warm">
    Warmup activity continues every day alongside scheduled posting.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Posting">
    Warmr publishes content on your schedule while maintaining daily engagement activity in parallel.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  Instagram's algorithm favors accounts that engage consistently. Warmr's daily warmup activity (scrolling, liking, following) helps signal that your account is an active human user, improving the reach of every post you publish.
</Note>

## Capacity and delivery

Each iPhone supports up to **8 Instagram accounts**, though **3–4 per iPhone is the best-practice sweet spot** for keeping accounts healthy. Use **Cloud Drop** to queue content from anywhere. Warmr picks it up on the next posting cycle without you needing physical access to the device.

If a device crashes or stalls mid-upload, Warmr restarts and resumes from the last checkpoint. The post will not publish as a duplicate and will not be silently dropped.

## Instagram layout updates

Instagram ships frequent app updates. When a layout change breaks one of Warmr's tap sequences, here is what happens:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Warmr detects the failed tap">
    Because Warmr reads the screen in real time, a moved button causes the action to fail and gets flagged immediately.
  </Step>

  <Step title="A patch ships within 24–48 hours">
    The Warmr team updates the tap map to match the new layout.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Your Mac app auto-updates">
    On its next check-in, the Mac app pulls the patch automatically. No reinstall or manual update needed.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  Post at least once per day per account for best reach. Use the schedule feature to fill 2–3 daily slots automatically across your account roster.
</Tip>
